Three questions for Apinya

What motivates you to work for the Kaeng Krachan Conservation Project?

Conflicts between people and elephants repeatedly occur in our project area. My goal is to enable people and wildlife to coexist peacefully, with a particular focus on elephant conservation.

What has been an unforgettable moment in your project?

First, successfully reducing conflicts between elephants and local communities and improving safety for both. And second, observing a large herd of elephants with calves, helping to secure the future of this iconic species for generations to come.

What is your greatest wish for your project?

To further reduce elephant deaths caused by poaching or conflicts with people and instead help the elephant population grow. I want to ensure peaceful coexistence between local communities and wildlife, thereby securing a future for generations to come.
