Vonitra-Palme im Masoala Regenwald des Zoo Zürich

Vonitra palm

Dypsis utilis

The vonitra palm is found exclusively in Madagascar. It grows in the island’s humid forests and features slender trunks with an elegant, feathery crown of leaves. Due to its limited natural range, its habitat is threatened by deforestation and forest conversion.
