Wild mangosteens

Garcinia subelliptica

Many species of mangosteen bear edible fruit. The seeds are processed into oil, and the bark is used to make dyes.

The approximately 200 different species of mangosteen are found in the tropics of Africa, Madagascar, Asia, and Australia.
