Year of Volunteerism

2026 is the United Nations International Year of Volunteers and Volunteers for Sustainable Development. This year of action is intended to highlight the role of volunteerism in sustainable development worldwide.

For over 25 years, Zoo Zurich has been supported by the dedicated FTZ Volunteer Team. It makes an important contribution to the zoo’s mission, particularly in the areas of education, species conservation, and nature conservation.

We are using the Year of Volunteers as an opportunity to recognize the tireless dedication of our FTZ members. Every month, we release a new video offering a glimpse into the diverse activities of our volunteer team.
