Red List
Vulnerable

The Standing's day gecko is the second-largest species of day gecko after the Madagascar giant day gecko. The cross-stripes that give it its name are particularly clearly visible in juveniles. In adult animals, they become increasingly irregular.

From December to March, the rainy season prevails in the habitat of the cross-striped day geckos in south-western Madagascar. The mating season takes place at the same time.

The Standing's day geckos then display their most beautiful colours, with a bright green head, black marbling and a tail that appears light blue to turquoise. The pairs seem to stay together for life.
